Group Exhibition
A group exhibition bringing together painting, ceramic sculpture and mixed media in a sequence of intuitive, dreamlike associations. Moving between figuration, abstraction and the surreal, the works share a heightened visual sensibility—bold colour, layered surfaces and imagery that hovers between the familiar and the uncanny. The exhibition features Guy de Jong, Lyncoln Vick, Mohamed Khadra, Lily Mortensen, Tahlia Undarlegt, Heath Nock, Adrick Lui and Kubi Vasak. Spanning generations and cultural backgrounds—from an established Belgian artist working in the Italian Alps to recent graduates of Sydney’s National Art School, and including practitioners with roots in tattooing, itinerant traditions, cross-cultural heritage and graphic design—their practices are united by an openness to intuition and a willingness to explore the subconscious as a site of image-making. Together, they create a dialogue across mediums and experiences, where disparate artistic lineages converge in a shared visual atmosphere. Curated to encourage open interpretation, the exhibition creates an environment where forms shift, symbols drift in and out of focus, and meaning emerges through the viewer’s own associations. The works resist fixed narratives, operating in the liminal space between recognition and uncertainty. Dream Machine invites visitors to linger in this unsettled terrain, where the logic of dreams takes hold and the boundaries between reality and imagination remain fluid.
